With the global surge in digital content in virtual worlds, the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in creating digital cultural content is becoming increasingly prominent. This shift poses a question: will AI's role in creation become the future of culture and art? However, true culture and art thrive on creativity, not passively consuming machine-made products. In the AI era, it's crucial to redefine creative cultural and artistic activities. Humanities, fostering insight, creativity, and empathy, are vital at this juncture. They should actively guide AI, leading to a more creative expression of the human spirit through AI collaboration. This presentation introduces 'Digital Curation of Humanities Data' as a methodology for humanities research and education in the digital era, showcasing how to harmoniously blend AI with humanistic values in cultural and artistic pursuits. |Speaker Bio Kim Hyeon is a professor in the Department of Cultural Informatics at the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS).
